Key Responsibilities: 

• Carry out setting out duties, including line, level, gridlines, control points, datumchecksand other engineering requirements for the contracts you are assigned to. 
• Plot grids before and after site strip,excavationand relevant construction stages, ensuring information is accurate, checked and recorded. 
• Hand completed grids, setting out information, survey records and other relevant information to the Contract Surveyor and Site Management Team asrequired.
• Keep site engineering paperwork, drawings, records, inspectioninformationand quality records accurate, current and available for review. 
• Check temporary benchmarks, controlpointsand site levels for accuracy, and where required check back to Ordnance Survey datum or agreed project control information. 
• Maintainsite levels, theodolites, total stations and other surveying equipment in good condition and report faults, calibration issues or accuracy concerns to the Plant Manager and Site Manager.
• Support the Site Management Team on the site you are engineering andassistthe Site Manager during absence where instructed and competent to do so. 
• Carry out tasksreasonably requiredby the Site Manager or Contracts Manager on contracts you are working on. 
• Record and write up measurements for bonus, valuation,progressand quality purposes, ensuring information is clear and traceable. 
• Check and record materials delivered to site, reconcile quantities and report discrepancies, defects,damageor non-conforming materials. 
• Undertake quality control inspections and reportsin accordance withdrawings, specifications, inspection and test plans, Company quality procedures and project requirements. 
• Support ISO 9001 requirements by ensuring setting out records, inspection records, delivery checks, non-conformanceinformationand corrective actions are accurate and retained. 
• Support CDM 2015 and site safety arrangements by reporting hazards, unsafe conditions, design discrepancies, service conflicts, temporary worksissuesor public interface concerns to the Site Manager without delay. 
• Assist with the coordination and checking of temporary works, excavations, services, access routes, levels, drainage, structuralinterfacesand other site controls where relevant to the role. 
• Ensure plant and equipment under your control is inspected,maintained, checked on and off hire, and any defects are reported promptly.
• Support environmental controls by reporting pollution risks, drainage issues, waste concerns, contaminated material, spillrisksor works that may affect watercourses, neighbours or the public. 
• Keep weekly records asrequired, including progress, site conditions, measurements, quality checks, deliveries,plant and relevant site issues. 
• Stop or escalate workwheresetting out information, site conditions, drawings, safety controls or quality requirements are unclear, conflicting or unsafe. 
• Carry out any other duties as requested by the Company.

Key Selection Criteria: 

• Relevant construction, civilengineeringor site engineering experience. 
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, levels,gridsand technical information. 
• Competent in setting out, surveying equipment, measurement, record keeping and basic quality control processes.
• Awareness of CDM 2015, site safety controls, temporary works, buried services, excavations, liftinginterfacesand public protection relevant to site engineering duties. 
• Awareness of ISO 9001 quality requirements and the need foraccuraterecords, inspections and traceability. 
• Awareness of environmental controls relevant to site activities, including drainage, waste, pollutionpreventionand material storage. 
• Good communicationskills and ability to work as part of the Site Management Team.
• Organised,accurate,proactive and able to raise concerns promptly. 
• Relevant CSCS card and construction health and safety trainingappropriate tothe role.
