We’re delighted to share that in July 2025, Muir Construction, as part of the wider Muir Group, is now officially an Accredited Real Living Wage Employer.

Unlike the government minimum wage, the Real Living Wage is independently calculated each year to reflect what people really need to live well. The current rate is £12.60 per hour – a meaningful increase that ensures fairness, security, and dignity at work.

A Group-Wide Commitment

Earlier this year, we committed to making the Real Living Wage the baseline for everyone across the Muir Group. By April, every employee – from Muir Construction, Muir Homes, and Muir Timber Systems to Deer Park Golf & Country Club – was brought up to the new standard.

For Deer Park in particular, this represents a major step forward. Hospitality is an industry where low pay has long been the norm, so raising the bar to the Real Living Wage is something we’re especially proud of.

Beyond Our People

Accreditation doesn’t stop with our direct employees. We’ve also embedded the Real Living Wage into how we work with our Supply Chain Partners. It’s now a core part of our Sub-Contractor Onboarding process, and we’ve been championing it at our Supply Chain Forums. Moving forward, working with Muir will mean being aligned with our commitment to fair pay.

One of our core values is simple: “Doing the Right Thing.” Paying the Real Living Wage is a natural extension of that. It’s about valuing the people who deliver our projects, creating financial security, and fostering job satisfaction across the board.
