One of the first Ikea Click and Collect outlets in Scotland, this new concept has been facilitated by the adaptations carried out by the Muir team at Unit A3b Kingsway West Retail Park in Dundee. When splitting the existing unit it was important to get both parts of the building properly fire protected as partition walls, fire separation and escape strategy had dramatically changed. This included upgrading existing protection to the new standards. Incoming utilities also required attention as power, water and gas provisions all had to be re-allocated and re-arranged. Cosmetically a new shopfront is essential for any new retail offering, while maintaining a guaranteed wind and watertight shell is a fundamental lease obligation for our landlord client.
